United Way of East Central Iowa was founded in 1914 and is the oldest and second largest United Way in the state of Iowa, serving Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Jones and Linn counties. We partner with around 30 community partners to assure our communities’ most critical needs are being addressed focusing specifically on health, education and financial stability issues.
In 2014, we raised $11,022,534, making this the largest fundraising year in our 100 year history! This is the 8th consecutive year we’ve raised more than $10 million in the community. Click here for a video of our $11 million announcement.
Thank you for your support this year! Your investment supports our communities’ most critical needs from programs that help children get ready for kindergarten to helping seniors remain independent longer.
