Fall and Winter Recreation Activities – your local recreation departments offers a variety of activities that will keep you and your family active throughout the fall and winter months.

Fit-Families – Mercy Medical Center offers  a physician-driven clinic helping overweight children and teenagers. Families attend a series of clinic visits with a Doctor, Dietitian, and Exercise Specialist.

Hy-Vee Food Stores – offer a variety of dietitian services including nutritional consultations, cooking classes, supermarket tours, lunch and learns at companies/organizations, presentations at middle schools, lifestyle and weight management classes

ISU Linn County Extension – offers programs on stress and relationship to diet, information for adapting to a diabetic or food allergy diet, many resources related to MyPlate and USDA eating plan recipes and educational information on healthy eating and low cost food ideas in print and on website.

Mercy Weight Loss – Mercy Medical Center offers a 12-week program for adults provides a relaxed atmosphere where you learn, share, or just listen.  It includes a 30-minute individual consultation with the dietitian, updated and current information, reputable websites and resources, and a Hy-Vee Tour.

Moving Well. Live Well. – St. Luke’s offers a six-week, low impact exercise program focuses on improving balance, mobility, strength and endurance.

Steps2Health – Mercy Medical Center offers a free walking program for members of the Cedar Rapids community.

The Y (YMCA) – offers a variety of programming to increase your level physical activity. Does not turn anyone away based on inability to pay.  Call and ask about Income-Based Membership Pricing Program.

Tobacco Cessation Services – St. Luke’s provides counseling and behavioral support to help individuals wanting to quit tobacco.

Weight Management and Nutrition – St. Luke’s offers a 12-week educational series to help you understand how to create balanced meal plans, discover healthy recipes, understand nutritional labels and learn the importance of portion sizes.
