United Way of East Central Iowa’s Volunteer Center creates connections between volunteer opportunities and individuals or groups to help them serve their community in Linn, Jones, Benton, Cedar, Iowa and Washington counties.

RSVP – Retired Senior Volunteer Program
You’ve gained a lifetime of experience. Now is the time to put your skills and talents to good use by volunteering through RSVP. RSVP of Linn and Jones Counties engages adults, age 55 and older, in volunteer services which meet the critical community needs that impact citizens of all ages, while providing a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of volunteers.
RSVP is America’s largest volunteer network for people age 55 and over. In Linn and Jones Counties, RSVP has over 500 members who volunteer for nearly 80 partner agencies in a wide variety of jobs. With RSVP, you choose how and where you want to serve. You choose the amount of time you want to give and you choose whether you want to draw on your skills or develop new ones.
With RSVP, you’ll receive pre-service orientation, training for the organization where you serve and supplemental insurance while on duty. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life. So get involved, and join RSVP today!
